If that was the grade and description by pcgs then why in the world would it be cracked open and in a hand? I agree with Eric, there is NO record of this coin in ANY grade being slabbed.

Congratulations on finding a DDO. Didn’t know there was a 2000-D DDO! And I’m not seeing any varieties listed on PCGS website. What is the designation? Where is the doubling? I will dig thru my rolls of 2000-D’s. Maybe I can find one.

well i appreciate the commemts i left no description on purpose and recieved the types of comments I expected bit still wanted to extwnd the benefit of the doubt. This coin has already been graded and deacribed by pcgs as DDO , No staining at all but some missing cladding.

Further research makes me doubt this designation. I have seen absolutely zero evidence that a 2000-D doubled die obverse exists and would be assigned by any of the 3 major grading companies. As for the missing clad layer… the image is not the sharpest but I own and have seen coins with missing clad layers and this does not appear to be an example. If I am wrong I will be the first to apologize but do not want other people to think they might have something special that is not actually a mint error. Would love for you to provide a PCGS ID number so I can be proven wrong.
